A pre-authorization charge (also known as a pre-auth or authorization hold) is a temporary hold placed on your credit or debit card to verify that funds are available. This is not an actual charge, but it may appear as “pending” on your account.
The purpose of a pre-authorization is to confirm your payment method before processing your order.
The hold is usually converted into a proper charge once your order is shipped.
